Southern Region
As some of you should know, I'm the RST for the UK Southern Region. In the three and a bit months since I became RST, I've managed to get around every game in the region.
In alphabetical order...here we go...
Basingstoke CA/Mage
I attended Basingstoke (North Hants, what you will) in August, for Grim's last game as ST. Say what you will about Grim, but he always runs a rocking good game. In this one, my Primary CA character (Saul) ended up crouching on a chair feeling sick (a _vampire_ feeling sick!) whilst the room seethed with unpleasantness....I was IC nervous walking in the room at the start (Cam Prince, Anarch domain)...I was _worried_ and then _scared_ while I was in it, and I was IC _glad_ to walk out..
Although the game has struggled with recruiting new players, and struggled OOC against the Cam for a number of reasons, it is still a very enjoyable game and one that I hope can keep running.
Reading Changeling
I've just noticed that alphabetical order is going to be a bit odd here...only one game prior to an R and only one game after an S...how strange.
Reading changeling is a game that I helped (as DC) start. It's a strong game, perhaps the strongest Changeling game in the country, and one that...to be frank...rocks. I've been to two games since becoming RST, both playing Duke William ap Gwydion, the noble, honourable and entirely tragically lovelorn Sidhe. Last game he took the Defiant, some trusty companions and Baron Keith Badcrumble the Redcap, into the Deep Dreaming to rescue the love of his life, Baroness Ailbhe di Eiluned. It did not go well, and as a result...meanwhile, it was Samhain back at the Freehold...and WaG returned to find the place an absolute wreck. There will be consequences from this. I'd recommend to anyone who hasn't played Changeling that they come along for this game and give it a try.
Reading Garou
Garou game started in 1998. Has had a bit of an up and down time but is definitely on an upswing at the moment. I play 'Slides-Thru-Cracks', a Ragabash BoneGnawer Fostern...always on the outside, alway a maverick, always saying things that nobody in their right mind would say. I have fun in this game.
It's a very traditional Garou sept, the Sept of the Twilight star, which frowns on things like treaties with leeches and other things.
Reading Vampire (CA)
This is my game, so I can't really comment on it. People seem to enjoy it. There's loads of stuff I haven't done yet that I really want to, and I'll be sorting it out asap...
Runnymede Vampire(CA)
The newest domain in the Region. I'd never been to a game before this month. As a result of some...IC actions by my Primary, I couldn't really bring him, so I dusted down my Tremere and brought him along. Although this isn't a particularly action-packed game (compared to Reading, for example) it's one with a strong court structure, which suited my Tremere well. And Pepe the Anarch with his "Guess the Body Parts" game...Definitely going back next month...and I'll see if I can get my Tremere shifted to Runnymede and run him out of there.
Solent Changeling
It offends me that such a good, well run, game as this should be so poorly attended. I don't know why. I have a great time here, playing both WaG and Mays the Satyr. I guess it's a question of distance and stuff. The thing that makes this special is the time and effort put into the background. Set in OakThorpe, a fairytale town, filled with a rich variety of NPC's. It's gorgeous and sumptuous, and deserves more support.
Solent Mage
A new, still small, game, with players very much feeling their way into the venue. I play Trelawney Thorpe, unstable and unpredicatble (and not particularly powerful) son of Ether. This is another game that really deserves to take off...
Solent Vampire (CA)
Once again, the effort and time that the solent crew put in to their games is really evident. They are superlative world builders....with the re-praxis of Malkavian Nathaniel...this should become a place that miscreants fear to visit.
Wycombe Vampire (CA)
Another game I've been attending since it started. Wycombe is struggling for residents but not for attendees, and with the new ST seems to be going nicely.
I play the Prince...the somewhat odd Saul of the Malkavians. In recent months I have disposed of a Lasombra AntiTribu for breach of the second and done unpleasant things to a courier. Come this month and see what high-jinks will result.
I'm pleased to say that there isn't a single game that I couldn't look someone in the eye and say "Go. You'll enjoy it."
Isn't that just (Joe Rooney moment) like totally rad
