It's life, Jim, but not as we know it
Been a long while since I did a proper update. Lets see
Monday - took day off to do car things. Insurance company was incompetent, so ended up playing lots of Rollercoaster Tycoon.
Tuesday - Got told at work that I wasn't going to get the 16k bonus I thought I was. Sigh. Never had it...not lost it. Went to Bridge Club. As Adrian was away this week, played with John V (one of the many johns in the club). Nice bloke, and we did OK. There's nothing quite as crushing however as engineering a 1NT contract that you have neither the points nor the suits to make, only to find out that another pair screwed up their defence and you have to settle for a middle score.
Wednesday - Work and then over to
barty and
inquis for excellent barty-pasta and then to pub with
inquis.
Thursday - Worrysome day. Work, then off to new Slimming World type club. Now have books and motivation. Was shocked at my weight...but at least it makes targets doable. Went to pub afterwards and had moderately healthy meal (tuna salad good, white bread and butter bad) Went home then had long IRC conversation with people.
Friday - started off well - had Bananas and Muller Light for breakfast. I don't like bananas much, which is an issue - will have to find something better. Muller light excellent however. Will be eating muchly.
Tonight am off to see Dad. Need to get book-present for him at lunchtime, then convince him to go to restaurant that will serve stuff I can have. If am good (planning steak and jacket potato with salad) could have pint of beer with it...
