Who Knows Where the Time Goes?
(1966) Sandy Denny
Across the evening sky, all the birds are leaving
But how can they know it's time for them to go?
Before the winter fire, I will still be dreaming
I have no thought of time
For who knows where the time goes?
Who knows where the time goes?
Sad, deserted shore, your fickle friends are leaving
Ah, but then you know it's time for them to go
But I will still be here, I have no thought of leaving
I do not count the time
For who knows where the time goes?
Who knows where the time goes?
And I am not alone while my love is near me
I know it will be so until it's time to go
So come the storms of winter and then the birds in spring again
I have no fear of time
For who knows how my love grows?
And who knows where the time goes?
And who knows where the time goes?
no subject
It's on
Along with a lovely Nick Drake song and more Richard Thompson covers than you can shake a stick at...
You're the other person who lists Cara Dillon as an interest....Hi!

Re: It's on
I was given that CD to review by the local folk magazine, and frankly - while a lot of the songs were good - I felt it was a bland attempt to cash in on that instant when someone says "I like that Eva Cassidy" and you could whip out the CD and say "well, if you like her, here's some other music you might enjoy". There seemed to be little other point to the collection.
As for Cara, I've been following what she's been up to since I heard her sing with Oige on an ulimately more superior compilation (ha!) - the Evolving Tradition series put out by Mrs Casey Records. The third one of those is out at the moment, and got her singing "Lark in the clear air" on it. Plus a fantastic band called Ola.
