Tea and Scones
This afternoon, I was watching one of my new Babylon Five videos, in a nice warm house, with a glass of my favourite drink and a cheese toastie. For that forty-five minutes, I was blissfully happy.
We are rarely happy for long periods of time. The best moments of our lives are just that, moments. The really nice meal. A long conversation with a friend that you lose track of time and only stop when you realise it's stupid o'clock. Looking up at the sky on a clear night when all around is silent.
It's those simple pleasurable moments, uncomplicated by worries or concerns that make the daily drudge that we all go through worthwhile. We live for and in those moments.
We live for tea and scones.

For some reason
I suppose it's a sense of "Is that it? Is that all we strive for?"
But then...if the scones are fresh, the tea is hot and there's the prospect of jam, why strive for more?
