There are about five or six artists that are really close to my heart, Bruce's Cockburn and Springsteen, Aimee Mann, Eliza Carthy, The Men They Couldn't Hang...and Warren Zevon. I'm actually struggling to remember the first Warren Zevon song I heard, but I remember two compilation tapes JB put together for my Mum and me, and which I nicked. Sixth form, driving to school for the first time... Those tapes were almost worn out.
