I love reading Amazon customer reviews.

Sometimes they're just good, sometimes truly great, and sometimes they are special in ways that almost defy description.

For example, the first review here.

I've heard Evanescence likened to Linkin Park, and I totally disagree! Their sounds couldn't be more different!!!

Well, yes, yes they could. "I've heard Evanescence likened to Ladysmith Black Mambazo, and I totally disagree..." would be acceptable.

Nothing, however, beats the absolute wonderfulness of this one (the last on the page) which contains the immortal line "The other songs make this reviewer worried that Billy Bragg might be a socialist."

may I offer this (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B0000070S1/qid=1056470050/sr=1-3/ref=sr_1_3/102-1757899-3076168?v=glance&s=music)

The song "Hot Shot City" is particularly good.

Have a read of the guy's other reviews - especially the ones about 1984, and Hitch-hikers Guide to the Galaxy...

The words "missing the point" seem to spring to mind.

It's a shame that you can't do at-length reviews of reviews.

Might I request

That you check out the reviews for
"Funny Valentine" by Amy Jenkins
And
"Tranquil Ark" by Stewart Vassie.

Both book s were written by deeply unpleasant people (Amy was once astonishingly rude to my sister), who check their reviews obsessively. If you could indicate that you find the slag-off reviews useful I'd be jolly bucked up by that.

Many thanks.

The stupidity of the reviewer makes this writer believe that they may in fact be a moron.

Of COURSE he's a socialist... that's kinda the point about Billy Bragg.

And he doesn't seem to like any books at all... and thinks that 1984 is "bogged down in a million issues that just don't matter" because he lives in America, where "The whole reason we live in a democracy is so that we the people don't have to worry about things like this" (let us forget that you must strive to maintain your freedom in the face of those who would take it from you, whether by force, or by fear)

The man is an idiot
