Well, back at work today as a result of overenthusiastic holiday taking earlier in the year. Not a lot to do, it appears I did a competent job on Friday last week, as the customer hasn't reported any problems at all. I think I should probably go back and tidy up some of my furious hacking, but that's dull and I'll do it in the morning.

Where to start? Lets start with

Monday

My birthday, and the first one I've worked since 1995, I think. Went to work, did some stuff, left early. The plan was - drive to Oracle, buy some presents, drive home, give some presents to [livejournal.com profile] spikydavid and Adrian, then drive to [livejournal.com profile] inquis and [livejournal.com profile] barty, deliver presents, drive to Dad's in time to go to Indian restaurant.

You may, at this point, notice that I was...over optimistic in the amount of stuff I was trying to do. I had to drop the Chertsey leg of my journey which was annoying. Anyway, got to Dads without any trouble, had nice Indian, went to bed.

Christmas Eve
Woke up late and spent entire day doing party-preparation things. Sister arrived at midday and proceeded to organise previously well-organised operation. Party went well in evening, had lots to drink, which was nice.

Christmas Day
It's a source of some irritation to me that my family seems to have dropped in to a practice of drip-feed opening of presents. Given that we go to my Aunt's at about midday and don't come back until after midnight, this has in the past had me being left with presents to open sometime early boxing day afternoon. This year, I put my foot down (ok, pouted and whined) and opened the remainder at 1 am. I'm sure that was better. Anyway, I got lots of nice things, and Christmas dinner was excellent (as it has been for the last few years due to a change in circumstances) and we played "Cranium" and watched the telly for a bit and it was in general good.

Boxing Day
Sister and Dad went off to watch Chelsea play football...I watched DVDs on laptop then moseyed over to meet them at family friends house. Had nice meal, watched end of "My Fair Lady" (1) then played some games before coming home and going to bed.

Today
In work. Arrived at 9:10 to find place locked up. Only me and one other in work. Bored witless. Ramble ends.
